First Biomedical customer service is one of the best that I deal with -- they are
always very kind, friendly, and very helpful, and their joining InfuSystem hasnt
changed that.

Meet InfuSystem's Experts
Tom Creal, Executive Vice President;Co-Founder, First
Biomedical
Tom has worked in the
medical industry for more than 30 years, gaining experience in a wide variety of
roles at a wide variety of companies. In 1998, he took this knowledge to the
bank and took out an SBA loan to start his own company, with a vision
to provide a needed service to customers in a market he knew and a exemplary workplace to employees.
"Our philosophy is pretty straightforward," Tom said. "Offer genuine value to the
customer using our technical knowledge, quick response time, on-time shipping and
administrative accuracy."
Tom keeps a trained eye on industry trends and changes. "I believe InfuSystem will continue
to grow as a specialty service company because our customers know they can count
on us to service equipment and ship products on a timely basis. It sounds simple
and it is, but it really is just a point of meeting the customers' basic needs."
Dan Wassall, VP of Finance and Operations; Co-Founder, First Biomedical
Dan joined with Tom in 1998 to create FBI. Dan brought
his purchasing and financial
know-how to the partnership. He and Tom "dialed for dollars" in a sardine can-sized
office for a couple years before moving through 4 different office spaces and hiring
almost thirty new employees in the following 9 years.
Dan shares Tom's focus on the customer as a business's number one asset. "All customers are important - big
or small. We follow through with what we say we are going to do, and we respond to the
customers' needs quickly and effectively because that's what helps us really
succeed in business."
Dan foresees more partnerships with manufacturers in InfuSystem's future, as well as expanding
into more local markets and servicing more types of medical equipment.
Tom Ruiz, VP of Sales
Tom joined InfuSystem in August 2010, as the company’s VP of Sales.
He started his sales career in 1985 and sold in the medical industry for the duration, including 13 years
with Smiths Medical.
Tom was hired not only for his stellar sales successes but also because of the way his innovative tactics
and ideas fit with InfuSystem’s modus operandi. His financial selling models and product
presentations were adopted throughout his division’s sales force. He brainstormed lucrative strategies
to reach sales goals in tight economical times and spent years managing a sales team that
garnered recognition and honors of their own.
Tom has the right combination of motivation, tact and humor to fit the
InfuSystem mold as well as push the sales
team to a higher level of achievement and collaboration with the overall InfuSystem sales force.
Kirsten Maher, National Accounts Manager
Kirsten has honed her sales philosophy at First Biomedical, Inc. for the last nine
years. "Under promise and over deliver," Kirsten tells her sales team. "Plus, treat
your coworkers the way you would treat a customer."
Kirsten believes that selling for InfuSystem is made easier by the fact that "InfuSystem is constantly
improving our quality of pre-owned equipment. We are one of the only companies
that customers trust to drop ship pumps to their patients or their own customers."
"The sky is the limit for our growth - but our goal is to always keep our focus on
maintaining and improving standards of customer service as we continue to grow,"
Kirsten said.
Glenn Friendt, Director of Marketing
Glenn joined InfuSystem in July 2010. Prior to this, he spent two years consulting for First Biomedical before it was purchased by InfuSystem – in
areas ranging from strategic management to marketing and sales planning to hiring techniques and organizational
development. During this period, Glenn helped InfuSystem define its “Sweet Spot” and focus its marketing and sales
efforts for better efficiency and results.
Prior to his consulting career, Glenn was Director of the Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship at the
University of Nebraska – Lincoln, Business College for several years. From 1993 until he joined the university,
Glenn focused on computerized practice management systems for medicine and dentistry with HealthCare Communications,
Unident, InfoCure, and Practiceworks. Glenn began his career with a Fortune 500 company and for many years owned one
of Nebraska’s top marketing communications firms.
John Haggerty, VP of Biomedical Services
John joined InfuSystem in October 2010. For five years prior to joining InfuSystem, he was the Global Service Manager
for Smiths Medical, leading their biomedical technical centers in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and Japan. From 1998 to 2005
he was the U.S. Service & Repair Manager for Sims Deltec. Prior to that, Mr. Haggerty was the Supervisor of the Biomedical Services Group
for 3M from 1985 until it was acquired by Smiths Medical.
John brings with him nearly 30 years experience in managing the servicing of infusion devices, plus in-depth knowledge of FDA, GMP and ISO standards.
This knowledge is helping InfuSystem raise its already-high service standards to create a truly world-class service operation.
John will oversee service operations in all three of InfuSystem's full-service offices.
Larry Schifsky, Lead Biomedical Technician
Larry worked at Smiths Medical (through its many merges and name changes) for 24
years before coming to First Biomedical, Inc. in 2004. He is a primary liaison between
the service and sales departments, and because of his extensive technical experience,
he leads regularly scheduled informational pump meetings and fields many technical
inquiries from his coworkers.
Larry's approach to service is simple but effective. "Treat the customer the way
you would want to be treated."
Larry said that several things set InfuSystem apart from its competition. "First and foremost,
it's our quality and standards for what we consider to be patient ready equipment.
Second is our turnaround time on customer repairs. Third is our flexibility to meet
the customers' needs."
Danny Border, Lead Biomedical Technician
Danny joined First Biomedical, Inc.'s team in December 2006. As a graduate of
the Dept. of Defense's respected Biomedical Equipment Maintenance Technical
Training Center, he brought a strong knowledge base of electrical and mechanical
repair on all types of medical equipment. His eagerness to learn and grow helped
him quickly earn the trust and respect of his peers and the management team.
In late 2009 he was welcomed as a Lead Biomedical Technician alongside his trainer and mentor Larry Schifsky.
As one of the younger members of the "Think Tank," Danny helps InfuSystem
explore new ideas and new ways of thinking for the continued expansion and
success of the company. He isn't all about new things, though - Danny values the
fact that InfuSystem, with its strong beginnings as a family-owned company, is helping in a small way to
continue the lost art of excellent, personal dedication to service.
Molly Olm-Shipman, Purchasing Guru

Molly has wheeled and dealed for
First Biomedical, and now InfuSystem, since
2003. As the lead purchaser, she enjoys the challenges that come with
dealing with preowned equipment.
"It is an exciting
place to work," Molly said. "We have experienced a lot of growth but still have
the personal feel of a small company."
Molly shares InfuSystem's strong commitment to exceptional customer service. "Try to
give the customer options. It makes their job easier. We also make sure our equipment
is patient ready, and we are able to follow through with the next-day delivery that
many of our customers want and need."
